Urology

Urology is the branch of medicine that studies the anatomy and physiology of diseases of the male urinary system. It also includes the medical-surgical specialty for the study, diagnosis and treatment of pathologies that affect the urinary system, adrenal glands and retroperitoneum of men and women.

The Urology Unit is a modern facility located in the Main building, it has state-of-the-art equipment and procedure rooms to carry out cystoscopies, urodynamic studies, extracorporeal lithotripsy, minor procedures with local and general anesthesia and a recovery room.

Services

  • Cancer of the male and female urinary tract and cancer of the male reproductive system:

– Prevention, diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer in all its stages.

– Modern systems for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer of the kidney, adrenal glands, ureters, bladder, urethra, testicles and penis.

  • Prostate diseases: We have the best technology and extensive experience in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia and modern surgical techniques. Prostatitis and prostate cancer problems are also treated.
  • Renal lithiasis: The most recent surgical techniques, both endoscopic (ureterolithotomy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy) and laparoscopic approach to treat kidney stones. We have the most advanced extracorporeal lithotripsy equipment in the country for the treatment of kidney stones without surgical approaches.
  • Female and male urinary incontinence: Study and comprehensive treatment of the female and male patient with incontinence. There is a modern unit for urodynamic studies, cystoscopies and pelvic floor therapy. We carry out all the currently existing techniques for its correction.
  • Study and treatment of urinary infections: From the acutely ill patient to the exhaustive investigation of the patient with repeated urinary infections and cystitis.
  • Andrology: Study and treatment of infertility and male metabolism.
  • Male and female sexual dysfunctions: Treatment of difficulties that can occur during the different stages of sexual intercourse.
  • Erectile dysfunction (impotence): The different causes of erectile dysfunction are studied and treated, and the patient is oriented to receive the best treatment: from oral therapies to the most advanced penile prosthesis implantation surgeries, managing to resolve up to 100% the problem of erectile dysfunction.
  • Pediatric urology: Study and treatment of children with urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence, and problems with the penis and testicles. (Phimosis, cryptorchidism, hydroceles, varicoceles, among others).
  • Pelvic floor: The pelvic floor rehabilitation and strengthening program is indicated for patients with urinary and fecal incontinence, where the patient is educated and trained to strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor and thus improve the results of multidisciplinary treatments for these pathologies. We count with physiotherapists specialized in this area and modern electromyography and biofeedback equipment.
